In JPEG, no — we only remove the metadata blocks, without recompressing the image. PNG and WebP are re-encoded, also with no visible loss.
Don’t Instagram and WhatsApp already strip EXIF?
The big networks strip it on publish, but email, drives, marketplaces and many sites strip nothing — the original photo travels with everything inside.
